Rosewood Retirement
Centre
The owners were seeking to build an area where residents could enjoy sitting
outside whilst having some shelter from the elements, they also desired a
more formal entryway into the building. Having gained some input from the
owners, JM Finishing provided some sketches for the client to look at prior
to commencing the build. Once approved and underway the project was up and
close to being finished within a few days. View

Simpson Hospital
Here, the main contractor J Floris Construction were given a detailed remit by
the client, the trim work consisted of individually milled HD/MDF and solid
maple for the handrails and wall plates in the main corridors. The time frames
were very tight and many long days and nights ensued in order to meet the
scheduled deadline. The contract presented a couple of individual requests, one
being for a panelled wall to be created that should conceal a hidden door, and
the other for some bench seating and a pagoda within the grounds. These items
proved to be an interesting diversion from the installation of all the trim work
in the corridors and all the bedrooms. View

Fireplace
Mantles
This project was as interesting as it was fun to do. The client gave
me a couple of pictures from a décor magazine along with some broad ideas and
asked me to design and build three fireplace mantles for them. Having sketched
out the design’s and sought the clients approval, the next thing to establish
was the proportions of each mantle, as there were two major constraints in
place, the first being that the box-out / chimney breasts were a fixed dimension
already installed, and the second was the very large fire inserts that the
client had chosen. After a couple of mock layouts on the shop floor we seemed to
have a balance established on each mantle, and as soon as the fire inserts had
been installed we began the job of installing each piece and finishing the
surrounding trim work and crown mouldings. View

Secore Projects Secor Projects consisted of a private builder looking for a complete
finishing package for two properties one of which would be their own home.
After consultation with the client two very separate style formats were
chosen. The work included installation of all the doors, window sills,
casings, baseboard, window seats, and a considerable amount of crown
moulding throughout both properties. View
