"It was my good fortune to meet Justin MacDonald at just the right time. My husband and I were finishing our home in Maple Ridge, and we wanted (needed) custom mantles for our three fireplaces. We had extensively researched cultured stone and prefabricated mantles, but none seemed the right fit for our traditional style decor. We showed Justin pictures of fireplace mantles we liked from decorating magazines, thinking that the level of detail and scale of what we had in mind would not be possible or fit with our budget. We also had some pretty tight constraints between how large of fireplaces we wanted and the amount of room Justin had to work with the mantles. His initial consult and design sketches put both our doubts to rest. Not only was it possible, but the sketches he drew were beautiful. We couldn't be happier with how the fireplace mantles turned out for our home. The high level of detail and Justin's eye for proportion are very evident in the final product. He is clearly a true craftsman in these days of low quality, mass market merchandise. His skills are truly appreciated.
We would not hesitate to recommend him for any woodworking project or renovation. In fact, I've been collecting bookcase pictures to show him for our next project!!
